Hell yeah, I bought this baby! Yet, I’m conflicted. I feel like I want and should re read the series first, then read The Cursed Child because, when you visit an old friend after a long time, you don’t just jump into new things, you have to take the time to reminisce first. However, I made this statement on Facebook and sparked a little bit of controversy (As “controversial” as book nerds can get. Haha). A lot of people say to just to dive in and read the new book, while others get where I’m coming from and say re read the series, so it’s fresh in my mind. (As if I ever forgot it! Lol) What do you guys think? To re- read or not to re- read?
This is sooo me! I had a co worker ask if I wanted to do a Used Bookstore Crawl with her and few other book loving co workers and I almost kissed her and cried at the same time! Lol. Also, this is a great way to get to know friends better and grab some TBR books from your list. We all made a list kid like 3 books we wanted to get, cut up and shuffled the lists and swapped. At the end of the day we found out who wanted what. Super fun. $10-$15 limit depending on if the book was paperback or hardback.
So, this is my “dilemma,” let me know if you have this feeling too. So, I have a ton of books and yet I keep buying more. Lol, that’s not the dilemma. The dilemma is that then I look at my bookshelves, at all the books that I own and haven’t read, and feel guilty. How do you guys deal with it? I’ve read articles of cleaning out your bookshelves and that is just pure nonsense to me. Lol. I’m not getting rid of my books!
How do you handle this situation? Do you pace yourselves so that you read one new book, then one book you already own? Do you do a reading challenge and power through them all? Or do you just leave it and hope you’ll get to them someday? I feel guilty that those books are so lonely and longing to be read. Help me out! What do you do?
And as always, “Get up, go out into the world, and do awesome shit.”
Yeeessss! I freaking hate that! I understand that the summary will be inside the dust jacket, and that I can still find it, but seriously! I can’t say I’ve ever picked up a book based on the reviews and quotes from other authors. Like EVER!! Save the prepaid praise for the dust jacket and tell me about the content on the back. Sometimes, I do a walk by B&N run and I don’t have time to open it, I only have a split second to skim the back and make a decision, as I’m not supposed to be in the bookstore and someone is waiting for me outside. So, please can the canned compliments and just tell me about the book, I can Google the reviews after I have read it and formed my own opinion. End of rant. Haha.
Do you guys really read those quotes? Have you ever purchased or read a book solely based on the recommendation of another author? If so, or not, let me know!!

For my spring break, I decided to go away, just me all that I required was exactly what the picture stated. Today I went to Pebble Beach and then to Carmel River Beach and read for some time. It was amazing! When my phone read “no service,” I didn’t even care, cuz it just solidified my solitude. There’s something calming about the sound of the crashing waves as the background music to my reading.
Beach hazard, sand did get in my book, haha, but it’s okay. It was just nice to go sit in the sun, dig my toesies in the sand and read. I highly recommend it!
