Spring Break ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒž

For my spring break, I decided to go away, just me all that I required was exactly what the picture stated. Today I went to Pebble Beach and then to Carmel River Beach and read for some time. It was amazing! When my phone read “no service,” I didn’t even care, cuz it just solidified my solitude. There’s something calming about the sound of the crashing waves as the background music to my reading.

Beach hazard, sand did get in my book, haha, but it’s okay. It was just nice to go sit in the sun, dig my toesies in the sand and read. I highly recommend it!

New Blog!!!

Hey guys! So I hope you have enjoyed my blog, thus far. I’m just posting to let you know that I have a second blog here! It is NOT a book blog, so if this is your thing, stay, relax, take a load off and this will continue. If for some reason you want to know a bit more about me, beyond books (GASP!),then take a gander. It will just be me and my everyday life and the shenanigans, triumphs and losses, pride and pitfalls, confidences and confusions, etc. The whole point is, I guess, to know that I’m not alone in my journey,or at least give you a good laugh or a deep thought or something to ponder along your day.

So anywho, please share and follow, if you choose to do so; if not, then you do you boo boo and stay here. I will update both, so don’t think that I am abandoning this one. Thanks for making me feel comfortable enough to share more of myself on the interwebs! Any questions, etc, let me know!! Again, the link to my new blog is HERE, so feel free to check it out. (P.S. I only have 1 post so far, but that will change shortly)

And as alwaysย “Get up, go out into the world, and do awesome shit.”

Running and Reading ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพ

So, I am starting to workout again, because I will be 30 this year and in light of (or despite, depending on how you view things) recent life events, I am determined to make this the year of my best me. Okay, so I stole that line from Oprah on a Hulu commercial, but that doesn’t make it less true. Haha.

Anywho, so I’m starting to run to try and reconnect with my inner high school/early college athlete, and I was thinking of listening to an audiobook while running. Why not workout and slowly get rid of my ever growing TBR list, genius, right?

So, this is my personal experiment, hence the “part 1” in the title. A few days ago, when I was running I listened to Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me? book, and I feel like my pace was slower, because I was slowing to listen intently and I was laughing.  Literally Lol. So, maybe YA or fiction would work better? I’ll try and post results and compare. I am using the Couch to 5k app, so I am looking at distance, since each workout has me walk and then run and each workout is the exact same time and I will do the workout at the same time of day, to eliminate other possible variables. I use the Nike Running app, for GPS purposes ( for safety, I run on levees) and can see my average speed.

For Non- Fiction: I ran 2.04 miles with a 14:37 average pace (AGAIN, there is a lot of walking in the beginning trainings, do NOT judge! Haha. I know that time is horrible, and if I ran the whole thing it would be MUCH faster, but I’m trying to ease into a 5k. Lol)

I will try Fiction and see how that goes. Do you guys listen to audiobooks while running or working out? Any tips? Are some genres better than others for this? Let me know!
And, as always, “Get up, go out into the world, and do awesome shit.”

How I Spend Money ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‘š๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’ธ

No doubt you all have seen this. I only share because I have been tagged twice (1 in Facrbook, 1 on Instagram) as well as had this texted to me 3 times, so I figure it had to be good. Lol. Each time the caption or comment just read “This is you.”  Lol. I love that my friends know me so well. So, here it is, the guide to how I spend my monies!! Haha.

Afterlife Atheneum ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ›

So,this is a little morbid, but I was talking with a friend and they said that if I died, they would hire someone to write a bestselling fiction book based on my life and have it published. I told them that I would rather just have a library named after me. I feel like with enough money you can just buy one. The library near my house is just named after the street and the downtown library in my city is just called the “X City Public Library”. The names can use some sprucing up.

I feel like this is a more feasible dying wish and a lot less effort, as bad as that sounds. I would like to state that I am healthy, aside from my emotional eating ( which everyone does, right?), my addiction to French fries, Mac and cheese, and my love of butter and all things greasy. Lol. So, this library will be a long time coming. Good idea, or a pipe dream? Let me know!!

“Busy” ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ›‹โ˜•๏ธ

Sooooโ€ฆ. This is me, just add a book with the Oreos. Lol. My friend had this on Facebook and it was perfect! This is EXACTLY what Iโ€™m doing when I say Iโ€™m busy. That or watching anime or Netflix. Lol.
What does your โ€œbusyโ€ look like? Do you have tea, sweets, coffee, etc. ? Let me know!!

Antisocial Bookworm

So… This is me (minus the grammatical errors). I posted this because I was invited to a large outing for a co worker and I adore all of them, I really do, but I honestly am going to stay in read. However, if you know any my friends that areย going out, my excuse is that I am “sick.” Lol. I have had a very long day, and have been in a funky mood lately, and all I want to do be alone and read and ponder my life. ย That sounded so dramatic, but that’s where I’m at right now. Lol. So, literally this picture is my life tonight. I couldย be social, but I would rather (and am going to) read instead. Haha.

Am I the only antisocial bookworm out there? Please, tell me I’m not alone. Haha. Have you passed on parties or gatherings in lieu of reading? Let me know!

And as always “Get up, go out into the world (or stay in reading, LOL), and do awesome shit.”
