My Moby Dick of Books ðŸ‹ðŸ“š

Standard

By Moby Dick of books, I mean at that one books that I frequently encounter , yet am too scared, intimidated, whatever to actually conquer. So here is mine, Ulysses by James Joyce. I have heard of it and seen it floating around on reading lists and even had one of my professors say that this is the book that made him want to be an English professor and others have said that it’s a really hard read and wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.  Yesterday I went to the library and saw a poster that said “It’s time to rediscover Ulysses!” and it featured the audiobook. And my first instinct was to say , “Don’t tell me how to live my life”, but when I got home I realized it was right. It’s time I conquer my Moby Dick. Granted, I know that’s not how Captain Ahab’s journey ended, but I also don’t have any malice towards the book, it has not claimed any of my limbs, and can’t think of why James Joyce would want to kill me, so here I go!!

What’s your Moby Dick of a book? It literally maybe Moby Dick or some other classic. Have your read Ulysses? What did you think of it? Let me know! Maybe it’s time for you to say “Thar she blows!” And head out to conquer it!! I’ll let you know how it goes.
